4) Adding Competencies to an Unassigned Role

1) Select the competencies (colored red): SQL, Java, CSS, .NET, ASP.NET
2)
Set the minimum competency levels (colored orange): 4, 2, 2, 3, 1
3) Choose the person filter type (colored green): Users with some of the competencies

1) Select the Competencies

The competencies are listed as a tag cloud in the Competency requirement dialog. Competencies can be filtered by selecting the category and/or using the Free text filter

- Click on the competency to add it as a requirement for the role
- Click on the trashcan to remove a selected competency

2) Set the Minimum Competency Levels

You can also define the minimum competency level required for the competency. This will be used later as you filter the applicable people to fill the unassigned role.

If no level is set anyone with any level of the competency are considered suitable for the role.

3) Choose the person filter type

Users with some of the competencies is a softer approach that allows the role to be filled when any of the listed competencies and levels match with the person.

Users with all of the competencies is a more strict version where every single competency and their level have to be matched.

After all these steps are done you can filter with this information in the People views.
